Common questions from brides…

  • Do you have a team?

I do not have a team, it's just me! I am able to accommodate bridal and event parties of 6 or less (including the bride, not including any flower girls).

  • I am interested in hiring you, what's my next step?

First of all, that is great! I am so excited to meet you. Next, just click on the “Contact” tab and message or call me to book an appointment so we can look at our contract.

  • What if I can't meet up before the event date?

No problem, send me and email or give me a call and we will discuss options.

  • Do you do makeup too?

    Not at this time

  • What is a trial and should I have one?

A trial is when your hair is styled in the way you have chosen for an event before the actual event takes place. I always recommend brides having a trial because it lets you to see what your hair will look like in the style you've chosen, and it allows for the day-of hair to run exactly as planned with any tweaks and adjustments mapped out. As an added bonus, the second time always goes even better because I've had a chance to work with your hair and learn its characteristics.

  • How should I prep my hair before I come to get my hair styled?

Come with clean and dry hair: wash your hair the night before the event or the morning of the event, but ensure that it is fully dry or there may be an additional fee of $25. Blowdry your hair smooth after washing it. It is also fine to let it air dry so long as you are sure it will be fully dry. Do not sleep with wet hair the night before the event as it can cause awkward kinks in hair. If you have fine and flat hair, it is a great idea to blowdry with a bit of mousse or volume spray in your hair. Try to not use an excessive amount of product though; you only need the mousse to be the size of a loonie in your hand. If you have hair prone to frizz, it is a good idea to blowdry with a bit of smoothing cream. (Again, try not to use an excessive amount of this product; the cream should be the size of a dime in your hand). Some light styling product is fine but avoid any products that are oily or heavy feeling. Wear a button-up shirt (or something that is easy to take off without disturbing the hairstyle) for when you change into your dress later. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

  • When should I book the trial/consultation?

My preferred time for the trial is between 4-8 weeks before the wedding day. That being said, if you would like to have a trial before giving a deposit for the wedding day, then I would recommend booking the trial soon, as the wedding date isn't secured until a deposit is given and contract signed.  Sometimes scheduling the trial on the day of a special event is a good idea (engagement shoot, bridal shower, birthday, etc). to make double use of the hair!

  • What should I bring with me to the trial?

Any hair accessories that you plan on wearing for your wedding (or event). Examples are hair jewelry, a veil or picture of the veil, extensions, fascinators, ribbons, scarves, etc.

Pictures of hair you love for inspiration. Try and choose photos that are consistent to your own hair and facial features

Wearing white or something light and airy is helpful for a bridal trial so that you can better envision your look on your wedding day

bring a button up shirt, tank top, or other shirt that is easy to take off if you plan on changing after your hair is done.

  • Do you do on-site services for weddings and events?

Yes, I offer in-salon as well as mobile hair styling services for special events and weddings. Additional costs apply, and pricing is listed on our services page. If you have a wedding outside of Greater Victoria, please contact me to discuss further.
